He is Radio Free Metzler, 50,000 watts of
magic on your radio dial.
(After
midnight on your transistor
when
you know you can’t resist her)
He is an
autographed picture of the Holy Spirit that comes with an authentic splinter
from the cross
He
is enigma and wonder, Wolman Jack taking your requests
He plays
the music when you:
Dance in
the dark
Dance on
razor thin ice
Dance on
the edge
Or dance
in the arms of love.
He is
Radio Free Metzler - the leader of the pack!
The one
who is
always there,
always
on,
and
always playing your song......
Wherever
you are he already knows someone there.
His
Rosary in the tree stops the rain.
He’s on
the dial where:
We
all drink Champagne for no reason,
Jump
fully clothed into the pool at Club San Mar,
See
the beauty in strapless, backless pink silk & chiffon with pearls and curls.
OH BABY!
Radio
Free Metzler makes a Dewar’s Scotch with a twist seem so fine and in line
tonight.
Metzler
is the soundtrack of the Gala Ball, all
organized and listed out, details attended to the last atom.
Splendid
and special, Metzler dazzles from group to group --the Maestro of social grace.
His perfect evenings purr and shine like a fine buttery wine from the French
Laundry.
Kansas City never knew it stood on his shoulders! Or just how he inspired so many of us to honor and help,
serve and care, support and nurture others not like us.
Metzler
is a Touchdown Jesus tower, a 50,000-watt signal broadcasting from those
outstretched hands sending and signal of hope to free spirits, rebels and midnight dancers.
That
signal is strong tonight as we roll down blacktop back roads, radio blasting,
singing and laughing, as best we can, through this sad night.
Trunks of memory are strapped to the top of our old roadster.
We are a
band of heartbroken lovers, dancers and dreamers, last chance schemers, and
moonbeam seekers.
Lift your
glass high! Here is to being so lucky to have known Steve Metzler.
Here is to
Radio Free Metzler broadcasting hope and joy, forgiveness and peace,
and a challenge to live big and better on
this Tuesday Night.
Huzzah!
We toast Steve Meltzer.
May his
road go on forever and his signal never end!
Steve Metzler died March 24, 2014.
